What affiliate links mean

When an article contains affiliate links, we say so at the top of the article. The link itself also carries an "Affiliate link" tooltip.

Commissions never decide which products we cover, how we rank them, or what "best" means. We include products because we think they are a good fit for a particular reader, budget or setup — not because of the commission rate.

Some links open an Amazon search for a product category rather than a single model. That is deliberate: we have not tested individual products, so we point you at the category instead of pretending to rank devices we have not handled. Every such link is marked "Affiliate link" and opens in a new tab.

How we assess products

Right now every product assessment on this site is research-based. We have not physically tested the products we write about. We use manufacturer documentation, owner reports, firmware notes and reputable reviews, and we cite sources where a claim depends on them. The about and methodology page explains the process in more detail.

If a manufacturer supplies a review unit or loan, we will disclose it. When hands-on testing starts, articles will say so; until then, treat every recommendation as research-based.

Prices and availability

Prices and stock change constantly. A price in an article is the one we saw on the date shown; it may be different by the time you read it. We update articles when we notice a material change, and price-sensitive articles carry a "Last updated" date.

Networks and required wording

We participate in affiliate programs only when their terms fit this policy. When a network requires specific disclosure wording, it appears in the relevant article or here.

Corrections
